Belonging Here: Realization Process Practices for Spiritually Sensitive People (sold out)

Peace. It does not mean to be in a place where there is no noise, trouble or hard work. It means to be in the midst of those things and still be calm in your heart. ~unknown

About the Event

This 6-week class is based on the lessons in Judith Blackstone’s book Belonging Here: A Guide

for Spiritually Sensitive People.  You will need to have a copy of Belonging Here in order to participate in this course.

Cost: $350 Returning Students: $250 (returning students, email info@theresascott.net for a discounted invoice)

One 60-minute private session is included in your registration fee.  Classes will be recorded (audio only) and shared with registered participants.  Limited to 12 participants.

We will meet Wednesdays at 1 PM Eastern, for 2 hours, and discuss concepts from the book, and practice exercises and meditations for living mindfully and compassionately with the most common challenges of the spiritually sensitive person, including:

• Thin Skin—how to create strong but permeable boundaries between ourselves and the external environment

• Landing on Earth—staying grounded within the whole of one's body by mending inner fragmentation

• Hearing the Cries of the World—how to open to our own joy even as we respond to the suffering in the world around us

• Shape Shifters—removing the protective masks of the false personality

• The Stranger—how to make the return from self-exile to self-acceptance

This is an experiential book group.  We will read 1 or 2 chapters a week as homework, so that we have read the whole book by the end of the 6 weeks.  I will read some short excerpts during each class, and ask if anyone was struck by any passage they have read, or was otherwise impacted, and would like to share or read aloud.  I plan to lead the entire class through 2 to 4 exercises each week, depending on time.  I will assign some exercises that cannot be done in class, as optional homework - for example: at least one exercise is supposed to be done outdoors.  Starting in week 3, we will do some partner exercises, where I will use the Zoom breakout room function, place participants 2 to a room to do the exercise, never more than 1 breakout room exercise per class.

If you would like to participate and have financial constraints, please email me at: info@theresascott.net

What people are saying about this course:

"I loved the sharing that we did which was provoked by the thoughtful RP exercises Theresa carefully crafted each week. There was clearly bonding albeit "virtual" bonding.  I had a break through during my participation in Theresa Scott's class based on "Belonging Here" (by Judith Blackstone). Theresa crafted this short semester (we met 5 times for about 80 minutes in all) in such a way that I was able to use RP to recognize a dissonance in myself and my understanding that had to do with my relationship triangle between me, my mother and brother. I now feel less confused about many things especially relating to gender and my mother. Though Jackie has been gone a long time, I feel this work, jump started by Theresa's deft handling of RP, is certainly going to help me come to know my mother better and thereby heal some important relationships I have with other women in my life. Thank you Theresa!"

Diana Bahn, Realization Process Senior Teacher, NYC

"Theresa is a wonderful teacher: experienced, knowledgeable, clear, sensitive, compassionate,  and fun.  I always feel safe and welcomed in her courses, and I find myself also having fun.  She can be light and easy, as well as able to work with deep teachings and difficult emotions.  When I ask for guidance with an issue I am facing, I have always found her to have a helpful response or suggestion.  I liked the balance of teaching, practice, and sharing of our experiences [in this class]. "
